The first step is signing up! You can try 4, 8 or 12 lessons free by selecting a dialect below:
From here, you’ll select some options, like whether you’d like to learn Speaking, Reading and Writing, Speaking only or Reading and Writing only, and then we’ll set you up with an account.
Once you’ve created an account, you’re in!
Starting your first lesson
You can start your first lesson whenever you’re ready by clicking ‘Lessons’ from the menu at the top.
You can watch your lessons as many times as you like, and pause or rewind as needed. Or, if you work better with pen and paper, you can print and download the worksheets and practice exercises. You’ll also have access to flashcards, games and quizzes, to keep things interesting and make learning fun.
Practicing with other Armenian speakers
When you sign up to Tun Online Armenian School, you’ll automatically have access to an online community of other Armenian speakers who you can practice speaking, reading and writing with.
Is it better to learn Armenian online or in-person?
Both learning Armenian online, and learning Armenian in-person have their advantages. At Tun Online Armenian School, we make learning dynamic and fun, with proven learning methodologies that will help you learn quickly and efficiently. But more than that, our students love learning Armenian with us, because progress is fast, the lessons are enjoyable, and you can log in and learn any time.
Q: Are the classes Live or on-demand?
Tun Online Armenian School lessons are recorded and available on demand, so you can log in and access them any time. That means if you prefer learning first thing in the morning, or late at night, or while commuting, or only on weekends, you can! This means you can stop worrying about scheduling, and just focus on learning. That’s what we’re here for!
Q: Does Tun Online Armenian School have tutors?
Yes! You can access tutor help at any time. In every lesson, you’ll find a link to connect with a tutor, and get extra support whenever you need it.
Q: Are there real people I can practice speaking and reading/writing Armenian with?
Absolutely. When you sign up, you’ll have access to an online community of 500+ other Armenian speakers from all around the world. You can connect with people who live near you and share a similar level of Armenian proficiency, or you can reach out to someone more advanced. As you progress, you may also like to connect with beginners so you can help them along their journey too. It’s a great way to meet new people, and practice your Armenian speaking, reading and writing.
Q: Can I learn when it suits me? What if my schedule changes?
Yes you can. The Tun Online Armenian School learning portal is available on desktop, tablet and mobile, so you can learn at home and on the go. You can learn at the pace that suits you, and life gets busy you can pause your lessons and come back to them when you’re ready.
Q: How can I join at the right learning level?
When you sign up, you’ll have the option to join as a beginner, or intermediate level learner. If you’re picking up Armenian for the first time, we’d recommend selecting the beginner level, so we can take you through all the basics that will set you up for success in learning Armenian later!
Q: How long does it take to learn Armenian?
Learning any new language takes time, but it’s incredibly rewarding! After 6 lessons, you’ll know how to read and write (and have picked up lots of new vocab), and after 7 lessons, you’ll be able to put together sentences. From there, you’ll improve every lesson, and you can learn as quickly or as slowly as you like.
